Discover the intersection of literature and photography through the creative journey of Sonia Aguila.

Sonia grew up in New York City and attended public schools. She graduated from the High School of Music and Art with a major in Art, graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Sociology, then later attended Queens College (CUNY) where she received her Master of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. Professionally she began as a Caseworker, then tilted into Education, Editorial Work, Curriculum Development and Training, Non-profit Community Development Projects and Programs, Education Consultant, and College Facilitator/Professor.

Sonia was born in Puerto Rico, U.S.A. She’s bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural. Her Passion has always been working and teaching children and youths. Along the way she has taught Young Adults and offered training for teachers in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys sharing (telling) stories and fairytales with children and, speaking with teachers and parents about the power of stories as a tool for imagination and creativity.
